Rei & The Moving Castle is a music project led by bassist Rei Wang, inspired by the anime worlds that many of us grew up loving. Growing up in Taiwan in the 1990s, Rei was surrounded by anime from a young age—especially the unforgettable works of Studio Ghibli, along with many other iconic creators. These stories, characters, and soundtracks became a natural part of her childhood and stayed with her as she grew up. What touched Rei most was not only the beautiful animation and storytelling, but the deeply emotional music behind them. From Joe Hisaishi’s moving scores for Studio Ghibli, to the powerful, almost narrative-driven music found in series like One Piece and Attack on Titan, these melodies carried feelings of wonder, courage, loneliness, and hope that many fans know by heart.'[== With Rei & The Moving Castle, Rei hopes to share those emotions again—through music that reconnects us with the memories, dreams, and timeless stories that anime has given us. Whether you grew up with these stories or are discovering them anew, Rei & The Moving Castle welcomes you. Come listen, remember, and feel it together. Band members include: Rei Wang on upright bass, David Bowen on drums, Kendrik Mckinney on piano, Brian Belanus on guitar, and Collin Ferrell on saxophone. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime.
