Doors open at 7 p.m. | Show starts at 8 p.m. This show will feature the music of Broadway composers John Bucchino and Jason Robert Brown. Traditional cabaret-style songs presented by several local singers. Edwin Canito, bassist, is originally from the Lower East Side of NYC and has played music around the world for the past 20 years. He has performed and studied with such Jazz notables as, Phil Woods, Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra, Paul Bollenback, Tim Ries from the Rolling Stones, Freddie Bryant Trio, and more. Edwin has also instructed as an adjunct professor or guest artist at Northeastern State University, Oklahoma University, HOSTOS in NYC, and Brooklyn Academy of Music BAM. Jared Johnson is active as a professional freelance drummer/composer performing and recording extensively with regionally and nationally known artists. Jared has been a featured performer at LowDown and the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. He appears regularly with the Mike Cameron Collective, Swunky Face Big Band, and The Tulsa Playboys. With his own group, Next of Kin, Jared performs his original work, ""The Grapes of Wrath Project"". Jared is a composer/arranger, clinician and adjudicator for various jazz camps, workshops and competitions. An elementary music specialist, Jared leads the World Music Drumming program at New Tech at Cherokee Elementary School in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mike Cameron is a freelance saxophonist, composer and educator based in Tulsa, OK specializing in improvisation that spans many musical genres. He leads and writes original music for the Mike Cameron Collective, the nine-piece funk band Count Tutu, and the Swunky Face Big Band. He has had the opportunity to perform professionally with The Count Basie Orchestra, The Temptations, The O'Jays, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Bartlesville Symphony, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Tulsa Signature Symphony and The Tommy Dorsey Ghost Orchestra. He recently traveled to New York City in February 2022 to perform the world premier of Ethan Iverson’s “Ritornello, Sinfonias & Cadenzas”.
