ECG3 is bringing a fresh approach to classic jazz repertoire while incorporating new and modern compositions and genres on Thursday, August 1. Special guest and spoken word poet Zhenya Yevtushenko will join ECG3. This trio features: Edwin Canito Garcia - acoustic and electric bass Brian Belanus - guitar Dave Bowen - drums Zhenya Yevtushenko- Poetry Doors open at 6pm/ Show runs 7-9pm 21+ Ages Please provide a valid ID Edwin Canito Garcia- Originally from the L.E.S. and brought up in Tulsa, Edwin brings a unique flair on Nuyorican spice with the influence of classic, hard bop and modern jazz to his approach. A band leader for 20 plus years with his latinjazz ensemble ""Mezclave"" and has performed with NYC notables such as Phil Woods, Freddie Bryant, Tim Ries, Paul Bollenback, Clark Gibson, Nick Mancini, Peter Brainin, Arturo O'Farrill, Walter White, Frankie Valdes, Damian Quiniones y Su Conjunto, Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra, Michael Summers, Bob Mintzer. Edwin is currently working on new compositions for pictures and continues to dive into new genres of music while continuing perform music from the American songbook. Dave Bowen- Jazz Educator, performer and recording artist whom currently resides in OKC. Dave and Edwin have been long time musical colleagues dating back to the late 1990's & early 2000's. David has performed with Phil Woods, Jack Greene, Dave Pietro, Sean Jones, Miguel Zenon, John Daversa, Nick Mancini, Pat Bianchi, David Gibson, Joey DeFrancesco, Ingrid Jensen, Steve Weist, Laila Biali and many more. Brian Belanus is a distinguished guitarist, composer, and educator based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With a Master's in Music from Oklahoma City University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Central Oklahoma, Brian has studied under jazz legends such as Jonathan Kreisberg, Bob Mintzer, Peter Bernstein, Lage Lund, Paul Bollenback, and Bruce Saunders. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Jazz Guitar at Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City University, and Oklahoma Christian University. Brian has performed with the Oklahoma City Jazz Orchestra, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma.
